A live, guided set of rituals for people who are actively grieving.
Here, we understand that grief is a deeply personal and transformative process. The Grief Well is a sacred set of practices designed to support you wherever you are now in your process. Our intention with this offering is to provide emotionally safe and nurturing space for individual and collective mourning, reflection, and connection.
Embrace Your Emotion Honor Yourself and Your Loved One(s)
The Grief Well invites you to gather online with us and others across the globe from the comfort of your own private space, and where we can be together with our feelings around the passing of our loved ones, around other sorrows or losses in our life, and/or around expectations or dreams that didn't materialize.
We’ll gently guide you through a simple but profound set of rites and practices that honour the depth of your grief, help you navigate some of the complex emotions in your grieving process, and support you in continuing to cultivate the love at the center of it all.
• Creating the Safety to Engage: We begin by creating a supportive and open space, both, in the shared field of the community and within the nervous system of each participant — so you have room to fully acknowledge and sit with your grief.
Through gentle and expert facilitation, you’ll connect with your feelings in the ways and to the degree that is right for you at this time, while also being held in the comfort and belonging of a community with shared experience.
• Releasing Feelings: Through various suggestions and processes — including physical, vocal, and ritual elements — you will be given opportunities to release some of the heavy emotions you’ve been carrying.
These techniques are designed to lighten your heart and provide some relief as you let out the many different feelings that can come along with grief and sorrow and as part of a normal grieving process.
• Coming to Terms with Loss: As you journey through your grief, there are ceremonies, rituals, and processes like what you will experience at The Grief Well that can help you come to terms with it.
By acknowledging the reality and holding the experience of your loss, you can begin to find a path forward with more clarity and ease, and (though it might be hard to believe now) maybe even some hope.
• Maintaining Connection: Even after death, the bonds we have with our loved ones endure. Even after devastating loss or upset, the link we have to our highest self and fullest potential remains. We offer practices and tools to help you maintain this connection — honoring it and keeping it alive in you.
At the same time, working through some of these rituals in the context of community that is going through the same things in their own ways, offers a deep and resonant level of healing connection that can otherwise be quite difficult for grievers to come by.
Nathan M McTague is a full-time griever and a supporter of grievers. With a wealth of skills, tools, and two decades of experience helping people navigate powerful emotions, huge life transitions, and potent spiritual moments, Nathan will gently walk you through the whole ceremony from start to finish.
A Place for You and Your Grief
The Grief Well is more than a ceremony. It’s a compassionate community experience that fosters healthy expression and the maintenance of vital emotional and psychic energy.
While the ceremony is designed to be a cogent, and systematic process, everything you will be invited to do is optional. You have room to opt in or out of each ritual in order to suit your interests and to tend to your own safety and level of emotion.
Whether you are new to grief or have been carrying it for some time, you are welcome to join us. Together, we can create a space where commemoration, healing, and connection coexist.
